International Baroque Festival Zutphen 2024 July 10 to 14, 2024

INFORMATION FOR PARTICIPANTS

Five-day Educational Music Festival with many masterclasses, workshops and concerts
FOR PROFESSIONAL MUSICIANS, STUDENTS AND ADVANCED AMATEURS

The next Five-Day Educational Music Festival will take place in Zutphen in July 2024. Masterclasses, presentations, workshops, and concerts take place throughout the city. For five days the focus is on historically-informed performance practice (vocal and instrumental). A unique opportunity for professional musicians, students, and advanced amateurs to receive lessons from prominent international performers and teachers.

This year’s festival theme is Baroque opulence from Northern Germany, which traces the extraordinary development in the 17th century from the austerity marked by the devastation of the Thirty Years War to the rich creativity of the post-war period. Both styles will be explored during the festival, with special attention paid to the influence that the Hanseatic League had on the development of the performing arts, especially in Northern Germany.
