BAROK OP DE BüHNE  – drama workshop
De komende IBFZ editie gaan we in de dramaworkshop werken aan aria’s, duetten en recitatieven uit oratoria. We gaan het hebben over story telling, over het verschil tussen het overbrengen van een persoonlijk of een algemeen verhaal, en over herhaling en over herhaling en over… bijvoorbeeld 15 x het woord Erbarme in 1 aria… hoe blijf je als zanger geïnteresseerd in het overbrengen van de tekst als je een heel kort zinnetje steeds maar weer…? Dit eeuwenoude repertoire gaan we met verschillende, beproefde, historische en modernere acteertechnieken benaderen. En werken ook deze keer weer toe naar een presentatie, waarin we het repertoire in een theatrale context plaatsen.

Ik houd van praktisch en ik zie acteren als iets dat tot op zekere hoogte leerbaar is. Niet het hele vak in die paar dagen natuurlijk, maar met een beetje techniek in je gereedschapskist zul je je op het podium veiliger voelen.

Hieronder vinden jullie mijn suggestie voor het repertoire.

Ik vraag jullie om , per stemgroep slechts een deel van de onderstaande aria’s in te studeren. Het is natuurlijk prima als je de aria helemaal kent.
Als jullie, naast de voorgestelde aria’s nog ander bepaald oratorium repertoire willen zingen is dat ook goed. Laat me zo snel mogelijk via mail weten wat je meebrengt. gtg@traditio.nl
Vanwege de theatrale benadering van het repertoire vraag ik jullie zoveel mogelijk uit het hoofd te zingen.

Below you will find my suggestion for the repertoire. Please rehearse only a part of the aria that suits your voice group. Of course it is wonderful if you know the aria completely.
If you want to sing certain other oratorio repertoire in addition to the proposed arias, that is also fine. Let me know, ASAP by email what you bring. gtg@traditio.nl

Tenoren:    Comfort ye and ev’ry valley , Messiah, Handel
Baritons:   Am Abend da es kuhle war
                    en/of  Mache dich mein Herze rein, Matthäus Passion, Bach

BAROQUE ON STAGE
In the drama workshop we will be working this coming festival on arias, duets and recitatives from baroque oratorios. We’re going to explore storytelling, the difference between conveying a personal or a general story, and what is repetition about… To sing for example 15 times ‘Erbarme dich’ in 1 aria… how do you, as a singer, remain interested in expressing the text if you have to repeat a very short sentence over and over again…?

We’ll research well known baroque repertoire with various (tried and tested) historical but also more modern acting techniques. And we’ll work towards a presentation in a theatrical setting.

This workshop will give you some extra technical skills for your ‘performing toolbox’, to feel safer on stage, and more liberated.
