Harry van Berne
Tenor
The workshop ‘Baroque Music in Hanseatic Cities’ will mainly focus on a number of composers, born or working in the cities of Lübeck and Hamburg.Because many of the works at that time were written for multiple (solo) voices, combined with an instrumental ensemble, the repertoire will often be a combination of solo works, duos, trios and quartets with basso continuo that is (later) supplemented with the prescribed instruments (solo violin, winds, gambas).
Proposed repertoire are works by Franz Tunder, Nikolaus Bruhns, Thomas Weckmann and Dietrich Buxtehude. During the sessions we will work on vocal-technical and music-historical interpretation and on (solo) ensemble singing.
