19de eeuws Lied

The 19th century Song
for singers and song duos, with piano and fortepiano.

In this workshop we’ll dive into the world of nineteenth-century song.
How did composers such as Schubert, Schumann, Beethoven and Wolf connect their music to texts by Heine, Goethe, Eichendorff and others? And how can we perform these works in an appealing way in the world of today? What do we need as singers and pianists?

We will work on text interpretation, the communication between singer and audience, but also between singer and pianist. And we’ll work technically where necessary and explore the colors of the fortepiano together. Listening to each other is very important, it will make it real teamwork.
