Information for participants at the Zomer Academy, 4th to 8th July 2018
Professional musicians participating in the masterclasses (including duos and small ensembles) will each receive a minimum of three individual coaching sessions of approximately 25-30 minutes, with an emphasis on historically informed performance practice.
In addition they can join in Bruno Nunlist’s Zen morning practice (attendance compulsory for singers).
Each afternoon there are ensemble coaching sessions for instrumentalists, along with various workshops, lectures, and classes in chamber music, song and opera.
Amateur participants receive a minimum of two individual lessons (of approximately 25-30 minutes) and can take part in all the workshops and song classes mentioned above. In addition there is the opportunity to sing in the ZAZ festival choir, which will give several performances during the festival week.
All participants can also opt to attend workshops given by Mieke Wouter (“Free up and Play”) and Susan Williams (“Quality Practice”) and Klaas Stok’s lecture on intonation. In addition, everyone will have the opportunity to perform several times in concerts!
And of course participants are also welcome to attend other concerts in the festival, subject to space restrictions; some concerts (such as the high tea concerts) are held in intimate settings, where there is necessarily limited space.
